Programming languages are constantly changing and updating so quickly, it seems by the time you finally memorize a command, it's already out of date. Below are seven different cheat sheets that eliminate the need to memorize the basic commands of different coding languages. Whether you're new to the wide world of web design, or a veteran of the competitive programing, these common commands need to be up on your wall beside your computer.
HTML

The body of the programming world. Anyone who claims to be a web designer must have some knowledge of the HyperText Markup Language. HTML is the most commonly used language to define a hypertext document that will be viewed over the internet. This markup language is used to indicate how text is viewed such as: links, images, font, and styling. This cheat sheet lists everything from the outline of a document to images and keyboard and mouse events such as double-clicking.
Looking for symbols to use on your HTML web page? This list contains hundreds of commonly used characters and the correct shortcuts to have them appear in an HTML web page.
So after you have all your text and links and images formatted how you want, you're done, right? Well, yeah, if you want your page to be boring! So how do you solve this text-only problem? By using Cascading Style Sheets of course! Css is what allows you to format your borders, and heights, and margins, and really, just about any visual aspect of a web page. Using CSS can greatly increase the aesthetic appeal of your site, and is therefore almost necessary.
On the same note as CSS, let's keep making your website more exciting. JavaScript takes a boring old website and turns it into something dynamic and entertaining. Maybe you want to draw attention to a certain link or picture. Why not have something happen when someone scrolls over it? Such as changing the picture or opening a small window? Or maybe you want to control the attributes of a pop-out? JavaScript is the most compatible language to accomplish any of these goals and more!
Still on the idea of making your website more exciting? Well, lets try adding more dynamic content to your website. With PHP, you can have content such as text, images, and forms change according to certain circumstances.PHP is a free-to-use, widely compatible language that can make the content on your website more applicable depending on circumstances.
My Structured Query Language is used as a relational database management system. It allows multiple users to access a common database. If you have a lot of data to store, or have to save a lot of user accounts saved, such as Facebook and Flickr, MySQL will allow all this information to be stored and easily retrieved.
Though these expressions and commands are not specific to any one language, they are common between many, and are still very useful.
Regardless of age, skill, or experience, these helpful reference sheets should always be in sight when at your computer. Special thanks to Added Bytes for compiling and making accessible these useful resources!
